When you order your dream gown from us, we take precise measurements and compare them to the individual size charts provided by the designer. It's important to consider any potential weight fluctuations, as we cannot be held responsible for changes in measurements after the order is placed.

Our goal is to minimise the need for alterations by carefully selecting the closest size to complement your body shape and gown style. We strive to eliminate the hassle of extensive alterations wherever possible.

We recommend scheduling your first fitting approximately 6-8 weeks before your wedding day. This timeframe allows ample opportunity to make any necessary adjustments and guarantees that your dress will fit flawlessly on your special day. We recommend contacting your chosen seamstress as soon as you have ordered your dress to secure the time required.

Alterations advice

1. All alterations are charged separately by the seamstress of your choice.

2. First fitting is advised to take place approximately 8 weeks before the event date.

3. The customer is responsible for booking an appointment for a fitting. Please apply in enough time to allow for an appointment to be available. We suggest you contact the seamstress as soon as you have ordered your gown.

4. Final fit to be carried out up to one week before event date.

5. Whilst we can refer another seamstresses to you, Love & Lace Bridal cannot be held responsible for quality of work completed by these businesses. You should query any issues directly to the business used.

6. These time scales are just suggestions and each seamstress may request different time scales.

Steaming your gown

If your dress requires no alterations and you just need it to be steamed we can offer this service in-house. Charges start at £15 (quote given based on dress style and fabric).
